 ‘Tis the season for entertaining so when your guests arrive be sure to be a fabulous host and greet them with a vibrant cocktail to get the festivities started.    Here are some of our favourites to try!    Cheers!


Pear Champagne Cocktail

Pear Champagne Cocktail (serves 5)
1 bottle of Champagne or sparkling wine
2 oz pear brandy
juice of 1 lemon
5 tsp sugar

Pour Champagne into 5 flutes. To each, add a splash of pear brandy, about 1 tsp lemon juice and a dash of sugar. Garnish with a thinly sliced pear.


Blood Orange Shooter

Blood Orange Shooter
Made with blood orange soda, a shot of orange vodka and a splash of ginger ale.  Garnish with a thin slice of orange.

Sugarplum Visions

Sugarplum Visions
Mix in a cocktail shaker:
2 oz of black cherry vodka
3 oz of white cranberry juice
1 tsp pomegranate ‘jewels’

Serve in a classic cocktail glass rimmed with vanilla infused sugar and garnished with a fresh sprig of mint.

Candy Cane Cocktail

Candy Cane Cocktail
2 oz raspberry vodka
4 dashes white crème de menthe
2 ½ oz cranberry juice
crushed candy cane for garnish

Rim glass with crushed candy canes.   Combine vodka, crème de menthe, cranberry juice and ice in a cocktail shaker.


Winter Solstice Cocktail

Winter Solstice Cocktail
1.5 oz orange vodka
½ oz Cointreau
½ oz lemon juice
club soda or sparkling water
mint and raspberries for garnish

In a cocktail shaker combine vodka, Cointreau, lemon juice and ice; shake and strain.
Add a splash of soda and garnish with a mint leaf and a couple raspberries.


Pomegranate Champagne Punch

Pomegranate Champagne Punch
1 ½ cups pomegranate juice
1 cup pear nectar
¼ cup Grand Marnier
1 bottle sparkling wine or Champagne

In a large pitcher,combine pomegranate juice, pear nectar and Grand Marnier.  Slowly add Champagne.  Serve over ice.


Holiday Citrus Punch  (non-alcoholic)
2 cups pear nectar
4 cups fresh orange juice
2 cups club soda
1 cup light rum* (optional)
orange slices for garnish

Strain pear nectar and orange juice into punch bowl.  Add soda just before serving and garnish.
