Event Spotlight | Waterview Special Event Space Opening Party

Waterview was the setting for over 175 guests who celebrated the launch of Vancouver’s newest event space offering 3,250 square feet of open flexible interior space with floor to ceiling windows that highlight the breathtaking 260̊ panoramic views.

As the exclusive catering partner for Waterview, Culinary Capers Catering crafted a custom menu worthy of its spectacular opening party. The evening’s energetic west coast vibe was complemented with a menu focused on creating lively interaction with our chefs and introduce exciting new local flavours.

The sustainable Ocean Wise Station featured a Canadian caviar bar and house smoked black cod served in miniature anchovy tins.  The Food Truck Station focused on a casual Asian fusion of bold flavours with snack size bahn mi and Korean short rib. For a more refined small plate experience Executive Chef Margaret created a sous vide lamb loin with baby new potatoes, English peas, mint and jus.  A big hit was a roaming Fromage Blanc Cart where guests customized their own appetizer of delicate housemade fromage blanc with various toppings and a drizzle of Vancouver Olive Oil and vinegar.

To finish, the Fire and Ice Station highlighted playful summer inspired sweets with a DIY S’more Station where guests toasted housemade Bourbon and vanilla marshmallows.  Our baked Alaska on a stick with a choice of fudge brownie with banana rum ice cream or a brown butter blondie with strawberry ice cream had folks coming back for seconds and thirds.
